It accommodates the highest snow capped mountain in Kenya and the second in Africa. It is famous for the mountain climbing; recently found trees which were used by Mau Mau as post offices boxes and caves which were the homes of the independence war veterans.
The Aberdare national park is a home for over 40 species of animals and 200 bird species. Where elephants roam through lichen hung forest. Aberdare national park is also renowned for its spectacular water fall i.e. Karura falls which drops 300m. It is a known for the Mau Mau war veteran caves, found deep in the thicket.
Maasai Mara national park is one of Africans greatest wildlife reserve situated in south west Kenya. It is a home to the big five elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Maasai Mara is also famous for the great wilder beast migration. The park was voted as the 8th wonder of the world showcasing the rich heritage and culture of the Maasai community.
Amboseli lies under the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The eco system mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya and Tanzania border. Famous for its spectacular view of Africa's highest snow capped mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. It is one of the best places to get up close with elephants.
Lake Nakuru lies to the south of Nakuru in the rift valley of Kenya. Located 156 km from Nairobi and is best known for its thousand and sometimes millions of Flamingos. It has over 450 bird species and a high concentration of waterbuck a sanctuary for the black and white Rhino.
It is located 150km east of the Kenya Rift valley, a unique scenic feature, a volcanic geology and island of high tropical plant. Various species can be found here such as giraffe, elephant, lion and Monkey. The lower part of the hill is composed of grassland thickets.
